Orthokeratology (also known as OrthoK, OK, corneal reshaping, corneal refractive therapy (CRT), or vision shaping treatment (VST)) involves gently reshaping the cornea to temporarily modify or eliminate refractive error.

OrthoK is an innovative way of wearing contact lenses – custom lenses are worn overnight, temporarily altering the shape of the cornea enough to produce clear, lasting vision after removal and throughout the day.

It is Not Permanent

Refractive laser surgery also changes the shape of the cornea but it is a permanent and invasive procedure.

OrthoK is reversible if the patient simply stops sleeping in the contact lenses.

How do I know if I am suitable for OrthoK?

Orthokeratology works best for short-sighted (myopic) people but may also provide correction for those with small degrees of astigmatism.

Our optometrists will provide specific measurements and testing to ensure your suitability.
